Seriously... our most frightening and frustrating to date

Mood: not sure
We could have chosen the easy option and caught a plane from Siem Reap to Bangkok but we thought "no" its our last big trip, last do it in style. So we caught a taxi from Siem Reap to Thai border town Poipet. The journey was terrifying. The fact that road was not intact didn't slow the taxi driver down and we all spent most of the 3 hour journey with our eyes closed.

We arrived at Poipet and spent to next 3 hours in burning sunshine at the Thai Border crossing. This was our worst and last land border crossing and thank goodness its over. Whilst the queue wasn't physically that long the Thai Border guards enhanced the "experience" some what. There were 2 Guards working, both must have been on Probation because they took on average 5 minutes per person to decide whether to authorise the visa or not. A woman fainted whilst waiting in the midday sunshine and a French Man was pushed over a set of barriers. We got through without a problem but I really felt for a couple of English guys who had been queuing for an hour before we arrived. They got to the counter and then realised they hadn't been stamped out of Cambodia. I suppose a positive is, that they got a tan whilst waiting!!!!
