Saigon / Ho Chi Minh City

Well after our flight was delayed for a day because of bad weather in Hue, we finally managed to make it to Saigon.
It is everything we expected, really busy with lots of bright lights, good food, great shopping and lots of traffic.
It seems that everyone we have met over the past few weeks are all converging in Saigon. Most people have been to Dalat and are now making their way here. We all first met in Hoi An on the DMZ tour and can't seem to get away from each other now.
We managed to meet up with Glyn as soon as we arrived and the 3 of us have been to Cu Chi tunnels today. We are also meeting up with Ian an Irish guy who now lives in San Francisco, Elaine and Kate who are also from Ireland and Anna a Dutch girl tonight for a bite to eat.
Other than going on the Cu Chi tunnels visit today we have just spent a couple of days getting our bearings. Tonight I felt confident enough to cross the main road and visit to market to purchase some new knickers. Crossing the road was stressful but nothing compares to having to buy knickers in size XXL and them only just fitting. Now I know why the Cu Chi Tunnel museum has had to widen the tunnels for Westerners.
Then we visited al the museums in Saigon including the War remnants museum and the former "Presidential palace" where the American Administration was forced to leave Saigon by helicopter, picture below
We saw lots of old American hardware that was left scattered around the country when they left. Including some old f5s Chinooks, Howitzers and Hueys
