Hanoi madness

Mood:
not sure
We arrived at the airport a couple of hours early only to find the flight was delayed by 4 hours. We started talking to a chap from Chorley who was travelling round Vietnam and Laos. He asked me what job I used to do and I told him that I was Regeneration Officer; he said he was also in the Regeneration business and it turns out that he worked for Preston Council. Its a small world. I think I might have ruined his holiday by mentioning work!!!!
We arrived in Hanoi late at about 10pm and checked into our hotel.

In the morning we were awoken by the beeping of thousands of horns. After a day at the Vietnam Army museum we were suffering from sensory overload. We escaped to relative tranquillity of our hotel room.
After a couple of hours mediating we felt ready to face the city again. Whilst wandering aimlessly trying to find a recommended hotel we bumped into Aiofe and Eamon who we met on the flight the day before. We went for a bite to eat and used and abused the happy hour offer.
On our first day in Hanoi Den and I saw two crashes between moped and cars. That's 200% more than we have seen on the whole of our travels. I think this might give you an insight into the driving in Hanoi.
