Bangkok to Laos

Mood: not sure
After visiting the Royal Palace in Bangkok we set off on our trip to Laos. We caught another train which dropped us at the "Friendship Bridge" which spans the Mighty Mekong River. Both me and Den are feeling really apprehensive....not sure whether this is because we have started taking Malaria tablets and they are doing funny things to us or we are just so used to being in Thailand.

Even though there is only a stretch of water between Thailand and Laos there is a world of difference between the two countries. The average GDP for Laos is $100 US.

We are staying at a little guest house called "The Orchid" which was recommended to us by a women on the tuk tuk we caught from the "Friendship Bridge" to Vientiane City.

We plan to stay in Vientiane for a few days before heading up North towards Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang.
