The outback and The Rock (Uluru)
This for us was the highlight of our trip to Australia. We went from our booze fuelled oasis of sin - Alice, on a three day camping excursion to Uluru (Ayers Rock) Kings Canyon and The Olgas. It was amazing - Uluru was absolutely awe inspiring. We spend one night sleeping beside a camp fire under the stars in swags - (big comedy tarpaulin - and supposedly snake proof - sleeping bags), it was minus 2c during the night. At dawn we went to see Uluru it was amazing in the dawn light.
We decided to walk around the rock - as the local aboriginals view it as a sacred site and they don't want people walking over it. Some people did decide to walk over it though.
