Topic: Perfect Timing
After being in New Zealand for two months and not really seeing much sun we decided that our next port of call would fix that. We decided to fly direct from Christchurch to Darwin and spend a few relaxing weeks soaking up the sun......how wrong we were.

We arrived in Darwin via Melbourne on a flight which according to regular commuter was unusually full. After further investigation we realised that the world famous Darwin Cup was taking place...well I suppose its world famous if you like horses. Anyway with half the population of Oz descending on Darwin we didn't have any choice other than staying in either really dodgy backpackers or a nice hotel. We did both but decided our wallets and sanity couldn't cope much longer so we booked a trip down to Alice Springs.

On the tour we had a great time camping under the stars and spotting wildlife under the watchful eye of our great tour guide Vic. With only 6 of us in total it could have been a disaster but everyone got on really famously.

Jane with Sarah Jane (From Newry!!)

I think it was fate that we had to move so quickly from Darwin as we would not have met Cyril, Sarah Jane from Newry, (Dens home town) in the picture above, Martin from Switzerland and Vic - from OZ - funny enough!!

Alice was a bit far away... and we went on this wee bus!!
